Foreign individuals and legal entities that operate on the territory of the Republic of Serbia on the basis of the principle of reciprocity have the right to acquire real estate that they require to carry out their activities.
Foreign individuals and legal entities that do not operate on the territory of the Republic of Serbia on the basis of the principle of reciprocity have the right to purchase apartments or residential buildings, but they do not have the right to buy any land (except that which belongs to the purchased apartment or house).
* Reciprocity principle (Reciprocitet) means that real estate in the territory of the Republic of Serbia can be purchased by citizens of those countries whose legislation allows citizens of Serbia to purchase real estate in their country.

Citizens of countries that are not listed can apply to the Ministry for clarification. Since the establishment of the principle of reciprocity with some countries is in the process.
